Ancestor:Descendants:

The groovy glasstalk replaced its ancestor, the scrubby glass stalk. It doubled in size and evolved a new shape. The chitin lenses collect more light and thus keep it warmer than its ancestor. With more light absorption it can also photosynthesize more. It has evolved a tough mycelium base that can regrow if they get eaten by glasseaters. Like its ancestor, its huge bulb root can store up energy in case it gets covered with snow or looses it stalk.
