The hiding feeder split from its ancestor, the hexfeeder, although pushing it to the verge of extinction. It has become slightly less mobile, never moving in its adult stage, hiding in burrows to protect against dartons. Its juvenile form is near-identical to its adult, with the exception of three sets of legs postioned near the head. These help it dig its burrow, after which the legs will be absorbed back into the body. Two of its four breathing tubes have atrophied, and a lip of hardened flesh helps support the mouth, keeping it open. It has grown twice the size of its ancestor.
