The indolent earback replaced its ancestor in the Rabid Sandstone Caves. When their only enemies, the albino serpentsaur, disappeared, life became easy for the blind earback. They couldn't feed on serpentsaur eggs anymore, but there were plenty of cavamari around and since these don't move around much, there was almost no need for running. In short, the earback has become lazy.
Since it's blind, its eyes have now almost completely disappeared. It uses its back ears and the sensitive hairs on its tail to detect cavamaris. When it has found some, it will plod towards them through the water and kill one. When it has eaten enough, it will lie around in the cave for the rest of the day. They don't make their homes in crevices anymore and can be found sleeping anywhere in the caves.
The indolent earback is a lot more social than its ancestor, more because they are to lazy to fight than anything else. Sometimes multiple earbacks will even be feeding on the same cavamari. Like their ancestors they lay their soft, frog-like eggs in the pools of water that lead to the water table.
