The karpdoon replaced its ancestor, the common oceanscooter in the waters sounding Maineiac Island. It specializes in eating the abundant twinkiiros and twinkorals species that grow on the sea floor. Its is much more armored than its ancestor having spines on both its back and belly. They however can still shock any predator who tries to bite them.
They have developed horizontal jaws that have primitive teeth. These teeth are made from the same hard cellulose that their spines are made of. Since they scrape along the bottom pulling off twinkiiros and twinkorals, they constantly grow.
Their pectoral fins and tail fins now have membranes to better help them propel and guide themselves through the water. They still retain the photosynthetic skin which helps give them extra energy. Like their ancestor they spawn during the springtime.
