Ancestor:Descendants:

The lurspire split its ancestor in the eastern lands of Drake. With the lurtress muscling out the competition, the remaining sum-humgroves had to adapt. They now grow taller than the lurtress by twisting their roots into a spiral trunk, allowing them to grow closer together and amonst the networks of lurtress roots. The lower part of the exposed roots creep around obstructions early in the individual's life to form a stable base for the trunk to grow. It was so successful that it spread to the neighboring Boreal, driving the forest quone, forest venomerald and pagoda crystal.

Individuals live for 40 years, with their reproductive system having changed from their ancestor. Like its ancestor and cousins, it will only grow the wind-senesitive resonating strings on its fan's holes when its ready to annually reproduce in the colder months. Unlike its ancestor, the reproductive spores are collected in a spherical body and bound together with nectar. Pollinators are drawn by the lurspires distinct sound to eat the fruit, in the process getting nectar and pollen stuck to themselves; when they go to eat another lurspire fruit, the spores from that fruit will come in contact with the previous ones and then detatch themselves as a new lurspire seed. A seed takes one week to germinate and 1 year to mature.
