The marine droopgea split from its ancestor, the sprawling droopgea. It has moved to the coasts. Like its ancestor it grows many photosynthetic tentacle-like branches. These can slowly curl up when herbivores try to eat them. They asexually bud off these branches as well, which can come in handy if a herbivore eats part of it and then the part that broke off can re-grow into a new marine droopgea.
