Ancestor:Descendants:

The marine hydrosnapper split from its ancestor, the hydrosnapper. They spend al their time in the water now and are almost half the size of their ancestor. They have specialized in eating the marine finworm, however they not above scavenging. They are cold blooded and breathe air so they must come to the surface both to breathe and sun themselves. When it is very cold they will float motionless at the surface to conserve energy. Their dark color not only helps them warm up quicker but camouflages them amongst the marine droopgea They are mostly solitary creatures who only met to mate. They make in spring and then lay their soft-shelled eggs in the sand underwater. When the babies hatch they must swim to the surface for their first breath of air.
