Due to the large pressures present in the oceanic vents, the larger maroctas had to migrate up to the relatively lower pressured abyss zone, there they have began to actively hunt the whorl needler and the pollinating darkswarmer, it also regained it's ability to filter-feed and it passively eats any whorls that enter it's mouth. Like it's ancestor, it has 8 eyes inside it's mouth which it uses to search for the glowing pollinating darkswarmer, these eyes will fall off and grow back again about once a month.
