The methane-seeking parrotworm split from its ancestor, the parrotworm lurker though they still inhabit the same biome, the Blarg Cold Seep. This is due to their new specialized diet. They now feed solely on the Blarg pyamus using their massive thick wide beak to break its shell and eat on the soft insides. Its eyes have retreated backward to get a wider view of its world while in the front it specialized another sense, the sense of smell. First evolving in its far ancestor the scavenging parrotworm in order to find cadavers small sensors of smell evolved from the taste sensors in the mouth. These evolved near the beak and gave a weak sense of smell. Now the methane-seeking parrotworm evolved these into 3 small flagellates in every side of the beak that are filled with smell sensors. These sensors are specialized in sensing the smell of methane. The methane-seeking parrotworm uses these in order to find the methane-rich Blarg pyamus in the underwater rivers and lakes of methane it lives near.
