Ancestor:Descendants:

The nectascooter split from its ancestor and evolved a new diet and lifestyle. They now feed only on the nectar produces by the lurehums that are so common in the coasts they live in. They evolved unique cup feet that produce a glue like slime that allows them horizontal walking and a long tub-like mouth in order to feed through the nectar tube. This sticky slime they release is very powerful but means they have to walk rather slowly and it can take them a few minutes until they get to the top of the lurehum. They also use these feet to attach themselves to a lurehum and if they sense the vibrations of the luring strings they will now it has grown a nectar tube and climb on it. They can survive outside of the water by breathing through their moist skin. If they stay too long and get dry they can die of suffocation. Thus many dive off into the water to get to the water quicker. Like their ancestor, each one of the spikes is able to produce a positive or negative charge, so that if more than one spike is touched a circuit can be closed. This deters predators from eating them. They will spawn in the water during the spring.
