Community and Production Information

Neonodents are a group of nodents which appeared in the late ice age following the snowball event. They constitute many of the modern nodents.

Barkbuck is an example of a neonodent.

Overview

Anatomy

Neonodents are distinguished from most nodents by their beaks, which originally evolved from modified incisors as an adaptation for durophagy.

Integument

Neonodents have naked glandular skin, like most plents, but also have bark-like scales which are modified for a variety of purposes in different species. They form an insulatory covering in the barkbacks, for example.

Behavior

History

Neonodents appeared after the Envious Eye formed, which allowed their ancestors to emerge from the Badger Limestone Caverns. They regained lost eyesight and diversified throughout Darwin as the ice receded in the time that followed.
