Ancestor:Descendants:

The octocryotower replaced its ancestor, the quadcryotower. Its cells have doubled and it has become 10x its ancestors size. It is more or less the same as its ancestor except bigger and with more cells. Its roots have also gotten more efficient in absorbing water and nutrients from the ice or soil. Its chitinous fungi-like cell walls have also gotten thicker to help it stay upright. They need very little nutrients to grow and can live on ice.
