The Orbiflor developed a spherical structure to store water, guaranteeing its survival in the desert and rocky places, beyond a deeper root structure. Of this sphere grow many thin floral axles, with an extremity similar to a needle, what also helps to keep the herbivores away of it. This sphere corresponds to the fruit that, when mature, untied of the plant and is capable to roll. During this course, it breaks and liberates innumerable small seeds that will germinate in adequate soil conditions. After some time, it develops a new sphere.
