Ancestor:Descendants:

The ovimari replaced its ancestor, the cave hunter. So many other predators existed in the cave that it had to find a new food source. Eating the eggs of other species was an untapped niche and the ovimari was prefect to fill it. It is a nocturnal creature that will sneak up on nests while species are asleep and will take their eggs. They have larger eyes for better night vision and are smaller in size to help them sneak around. They have soft footpads on the bottom of their feet to help them stay stealthy. Even their dark colorings help them stay hidden.

They are now solitary creatures and only meet to mate. When they do mate they will make thundering calls with the vocal sacks in their heads. They also have a mild toxin in their bite which is only uses as a last resort to to defend themselves. Otherwise they will make loud noises and try to puff them selves up to look bigger than they really are. Those that live closer to the south pole have more blubber to keep them warm then their more Northern relatives.
