The painted uksor split from its ancestor and moved into the more temperate regions of Drake. Unlike its ancestors, the painted uksor has green armor that allows it to look like fallen pieces of crystal flora. However, due to the diverse flora in the Drake Temperate Rainforest, it managed to evolve a very special feature that gives the painted uksor its name. This being that it has skin that can change various colors that allow it to look like a pile of lurtress leaf litter or a fallen branch of a towering grovecrystal. This color-changing ability allows it to ambush its prey and suck the life right out of it. It has also evolved bigger claws that help it dig more efficiently. Much like its ancestor, they live in colonies. Though they are not quite as big as its ancestor's super-colonies, they are still fairly large and seldom fight with one another.
