The patresidal loppy split from its ancestor, the lolly poppy and moved alongside the Ittiz River to the Ittiz High Desert and from there spread to Ittiz-Ovi Desert. It now uses purple photosynthesis, which takes advantage of the abundance of yellow light in the desert and high desert biomes. It has shortened to half its ancestor's size.
Existing in the desert is hard, and the patresidal loppy developed a new way to conserve energy. Instead of shooting its spores out, its spores now grow inside the living carcass of their parent. Using their parent body as a source for minerals and nourishment, they then grow out their pink roots to the desert sands, where it digs it way to a new spot, leaving its parent's lifeless carcass to dry in the sun.
Expelling the gas its ancestor was known for took too much energy, and the gas itself was created using reserved nutrients, so the patresidal loppy no longer uses this ability, which doesn't help surviving in the desert.
