The poolalgae split from its ancestor and has moved to the North Polar Beach. They have expanded on their ancestor's tendency to overheat and melt the ice around it. They will form clusters of five to ten poolalgaes, melting a large pool of liquid water around them. Because of the available water, their root-bulb has grown smaller, but the roots themselves are now found halfway up the body. They use the same glass-like lenses as their ancestor, but they have grown larger in comparison to their body.
