The red seepchip replaced its ancestor, the seep urchip. As the seep pyamus evolved it evolved along with it. It now feeds from the red filtering organs which were a lot easier to get to than the hard crystal outer coating. It will not only feed on this but hide inside of the filters from predators. Its black and red colorings blend it with the red filters and the black crystal coating. It also has become more mobile and will crawl from crystal to crystal; its spiny shell helps protect it while on the move. It has also become more tolerant of the high levels of methane and salt in the water it lives in, although if it gets too much methane it will crawl away from the seep for a bit. If it has too much salt it will expel it from its beak in round salty balls.
