Ancestor:Descendants:

The roaming oropede split from their ancestor and moved inland. They spend their days marching through the mountains, scoping soil into their foot-mouths. They do this for two reasons; it provides nutrients, and the volcanic soil provide them with much of their iron needs. They will occasionally seek out rustwurms or gliding gushstriders, but they need very little food due to their extremely low metabolism. They must remain close to water, as they still require water for respiration. Like their ancestors they reproduce via fragmentation or larva budding.
