The rootbud fanshrub replaced its ancestor, the rootbud shrub. It has changed little still ruling the island using its extremely fast root-budding reproduction method. The main difference between it and its ancestor are the new fan-shaped leaves it grows. These leaves give it better protection against the walking uktanks that feed on it as it keeps the main stalk hidden from their sharp claws. Each leaf also contains a protein that makes the uktanks feel full and less hungry and also a set of proteins that makes their digesting slower. It can still connect to other individuals' roots and form an underground web. It can now also connect to other species' of plants through the roots and parasite them.
