The ruberarian split from its ancestor, the azularian. Due to the smaller habitat, the ruberarian got smaller, but it is still hunting gillcrests and other bigger creatures. The red pigments in the skin and the dots on its back have adapted to hide on the red sea floor. When prey swims to the ruberarian, it shoots up from the ground and bites at its prey. Often the bones of the prey are crushed by this attack. Sometimes a few teeth from the ruberarian get lost due to the attack. When teeth get lost, other teeth grow in their place.
