The rust boosh replaced its ancestor on Oz Temperate Beach and spread to the east. Its ancestor still exists on Abello Temperate Beach. It has developed a hollow, bamboo-like stem in order to lift its berries above the ground and make them easier to reach for herbivores like the various capiri descendants. The berries have also improved: now almost 50% survives their trip through the organism's digestive system. The leaves are stiff and sharp to discourage herbivores from eating them. It doesn't need much water and the narrow leaves prevent it from catching too much sun in the desert.
