The sagavermes microplaque has replaced its ancestor microplaque. It has spread across the globe infecting only the Sagaverme Phylum. It lives much like its ancestor by growing into large colonies covering the surface of the teeth and gums in a clear "biofilm". It eats not only the left over food materials in the mouth but will absorb the chitin of the teeth themselves. Thus building their own cell walls with chitin. This can lead to gum disease and tooth decay in its host.
