Ancestor:Descendants:

The shadow seaswimmer rusty replaced its ancestor, the rusty seaswimmer. Now isolated from the mainland it thrived in Maineiac Temperate Coast. It was so successful that it pushed out other more global predators out such as the spotted shocker, bloodfin scylarian and royal scylarian. However it is not at the top of the food chain either it must still watch out for the scorpodile.

Its coloration is now black to blend in with the volcanic sands of Maineiac. Its is now longer and more slender to slither through the water and snatch up prey with its toxic bite. The needle-like teeth in its lower jaw contain the poison.

They no longer migrate into rivers to give birth. The young must hide along the seafloor among the marine flora in order to escape predators and even adults. Thus juveniles must heavy rely on their camouflage. Their biggest risk is coming up for air so they tend to stay in more shallow water near the shore where larger marine predators cannot get to them.
