The shielded stumpworm has evolved an extra tough shell, to prevent it from being eaten. It also has developed a way to collapse into itself, so that only the hard shell is exposed. Its diet is basically the same as the stumpworm, with the exception that it will eat carrion if it doesn't find a live food source.
