The silverling is a descendant of the multicolor beakworm. It left the reefs and started to live in the open water and at the edges of the reefs as well. Also, it lost its colors and lives in very huge swarms. This will give it much protection against the snarks. They are real omnivores and will feed on all which is small enough for their beak, but they aren't active hunters. They will just swallow what will run into them. Their body is as big as a human hand.
