The result of several "encounters" between rosy scylarians and ruberarians, the slender scylarian has evolved to thrive in warmer waters and dominate the predatory niche of most regions it inhabits. Bearing resemblance to the ancestral scylarian of old, this predator is however significantly shorter but nonetheless just as deadly. With rows of needle-like teeth filling its mouth, the slender scylarian is capable of tearing crippling gashes into the sides of its prey, as well as snap up smaller ones with ease. Its slender form allows it to slip in between rocks and other obstacles with ease.

Adults fear few things in the sea, save for themselves and the immense cruelfang hafgufa, the latter of which is capable of crushing them with a single bite of their powerful jaws. Solitary predators, they tend to live close to shore where prey is more plentiful.

Mating occurs year round, and results in a seven month pregnancy. Five to six pups are the norm for a litter, though more is not uncommon. The adults provide their young with no care, and are in fact among the list of predators that will hunt them. Because of this, young grow relatively quickly, achieving full length and sexual maturity within six years.
