Ancestor:Descendants:

Splitting from its ancestor, the scylarian has evolved a serpentine form while its back flippers have degraded even more. Developing sensory chin strips, they contain large amounts of sensory cells that allow them to sense potential prey and other organisms similarly to a shark's use of its Ampullae of Lorenzini. They are solitary animals. They give birth to live young which the mother will care for about 3–4 weeks, such as teaching them to feed, before the young leave her and then make their way in the world. They can live to be 50 years of age and are sexually mature at 10 years of age.
