Ancestor:Descendants:

The spider-morsus split from its ancestor Morsus sopor and inhabited the shoreline of Ovi island. As Morsus sopor was carried out as a parasite inside the bodies of uktanks and other fauna some found themselves on the beach of Ovi island. There the newly evolved testudoweb started to form colonies along the shore and found an available easy food source. Its main food source is in fact the testudoweb. Most individuals spend their whole lifetime on the testudowebs' webs eating the colony slowly creating small non-purple patches on the sand. Some though have entered the island itself and feed on small organic particles in the soil as detritivores. It still has two forms of spines, tentacle spines that are used to grab its food, and shorter spines which are used both to excrete digestive enzymes and to intake the nutrients. It has a powerful thick membrane wall as the selective insertion is done in the short spines all which makes it very protected from outside threats. It still has its ancestors' ability to become dormant in times of stress. It kept its ancestors' reproduction methods. Unlike its ancestor it can no longer target multicellular prey in any way.
