The spotted eardigger replaced its ancestor, the sandcrawler. It spends much more time on the surface of the sand. It will actively stalk prey such as the gringlo. When hunting it will hide in the brush and wait for its prey to pass by, then it will leap out and inject its strong venom into them and run away. There it will wait until the prey has become paralyzed by the venom in which it will come back and start eating them live but paralyzed.
Its 3 sets of legs are great for digging and they will dig burrows to sleep in during the day. They only come out at dusk and go back in in the morning. The mother will have live babies in them and bring them food. The father has nothing to do with he offspring and only interacts with the female to mate. Once the offspring is born they will go off on their own. They mate at night during the winter time.
