The striped foi arose when lipper foi gradually made their way to Blitz Polar Coast. Finding few microbes but an abundance of floral life, they began to adapt by adding polagea to their diet. To camouflage themselves while they feed, they have taken on the flora's striped patterns. It has developed a form of biological antifreeze in order to allow it to grow this far north of the equator in these cold icy waters that are frequented by icebergs.
