Ancestor:Descendants:

The symbioship ironroot split from its ancestor, the ironroot. It now grows in the cracks of the symbioship shrubite. There it digs into the hard shell and foods off its insides. To get its iron it must wait until it goes into iron rich coasts such as Oz Temperate Coast or Clayren Tropical Coast. When it is not near those it will become cannibalistic and eat the iron from other symbioship ironroots.

They are basically a set of ever growing roots. Each root can bud off tiny cell balls which detach and float in the water when they have enough extra iron to reproduce. Otherwise they do not reproduce and focus on growing. Those that stay too far from iron rich coasts will eventually die out, thus not all symbioships have these parasites.
