Ancestor:Descendants:

The symbiotic lumin split from its ancestor and spread downstream, where it started living on the skin of the local enoms. It uses its flagella like roots, to attach itself to the symbiotic enom. Their main advantage in this relationship is that the stinging tentacles of the enom fend off most predators, thus unintentionally protecting the lumin. The lumin pays for this service by transporting some of the sugars it produces by photosynthesis, through their roots, to their enom host, giving it an extra energy source.
