Ancestor:Descendants:

The terrasnappers split from a group of hydrosnappers that made their way to Vivus Volcanic Island. Growing large on the island habitat, their shells have shrunk and have become thinner due to lack of predators, and their jaws have become very strong so that they can take down whatever prey they may find. They are known to feed on the carcasses of sea creatures that float onto the island. Unlike their ancestors, they can run on their back legs for short distances, and this is often used to chase down prey. Solitary creatures, they lay clutches of eggs under the sand of the island's beaches. It is amphibious but tends to stay on land due to it not being an effective swimmer. They grow rather slowly and are long-lived, with individuals reaching 3 meters only after 50 years of life.
