Plentshirshu

The thornmole replaced its ancestor, the plentshirshu. It has shrunk in size and now primarily lives underground. Due to the abundance of other predators, it discovered an untapped niche by living underground. They use their claws and strong limbs to dig through the soil. They they make their burrows and hunt for vermees. To help it protect against predators the thorns around its butt-nostril have spread across its whole body. Its ears have shrunk to help it move through the ground better; as a result, it must rely more on its sense of touch than sound. Like their ancestor, they will a dig large burrow to sleep in a raise their young. The young are born without thorns and only grow them when they have reached adulthood. While they do have some overlap in range as its relative, the greater plentshirshu, they no not have the same diet, thus they can co-exist with each other.
