The thorny crastrum split off from its ancestor the suction crastrum. It is twice the size of its ancestor and has thorns all over the top side of its body. This is to fend off species that would want to eat them. Like its ancestor it can suction onto crystal flora as well as swim through the water using its arms as fins. It has a new adaption, it can grow 4 extra arms over its lifetime. They start out with 6 but can grow up to 10. This comes in handy if one gets bitten off by a predator.
