The tower saltpuff split from its ancestor, the salt puff. Like its ancestor it has a stalk-sack that hangs below the upper leaves and stores unneeded salt. They live 5–6 years before it fills up and they die. They have also evolved a taller "spore puff". With this it makes it almost twice as tall as its ancestor. It also helps spread its puffy spores better than its ancestor could.
