The treehugger koyrstal spit from its ancestor and shrank dramatically due to island dwarfism. They are now parasites living off of the various large purple flora of the island. The parasitism is brutal striking at any point in the host's life and is almost always lethal. Because of this disease population numbers of all host have radically declined. An infected individual will often have more then one of the spore producing crystals protruding from the trunk in the last stages of it's life.
