Ancestor:Descendants:

The tripcrystal split from its ancestor and quickly populated Vivus Taiga and even some Vivus Polar Scrub. A mutation has caused it to grow very quickly and very tall, often causing them to tip over and form an arch. They thrive in the taiga, spreading like wildfire across the biome. While their length can reach over 25 meters,

they tend to reach no higher than 10 meters before starting to droop. The quick spread of this flora has created dense, tangled expanses uninterrupted for miles.

In Vivus Polar Scrub, a slightly different variety grows called the miniature tripcrystal. They rarely grow more than 1 meter long and 20 cm high, and grow in small patches scattered throughout the biome.
