Polyfoi trinitus
Ancestor:Descendants:

Splitting from its ancestor, the trisiphon polyfoi has adapted to one of the splits of its ancestor's host, the rosy scylarian. It now parasitizes the glowlight scylarian, attaching itself to its skin and feeding off its blood via root-like structures that puncture the blood vessels. A trio of siphons, giving it its name, extend out of it, pumping spores into the water. When not using it for this, which is rare, these siphons are capable of being retracted against its body. The spores produced follow the chemical signals produced by potential hosts and eventually burrow into their skin. They rapidly mature and begin the life cycle anew.
