The tunneling uksip split from its ancestor and moved into the Yannick Ice Caves. Its filter-tooth has grown larger and sharper and is now used to dig tunnels in the ice. While digging it filters its food out of the ice. Its middle two legs are used to support itself while the outer legs sweep the ice dust away. It has developed an extra toe on the outer legs to make the sweeping easier. It can still swim and will make tunnels underwater as easily as above, though they prefer to live above water. Tunneling uksips live in brood-colonies in their own tunnels where they raise their young together. They aren't loyal to one colony, however, and will easily switch colonies if they meet another one in their tunneling adventures. In the same way colonies will often merge or split, depending on the circumstances.
