The water table foi split from its ancestor, the ash foi, when some ash foi found their way into the Wright water tables through Blood Lava Tube Sea Caves. The now live on the abundant lithovoric microbes present on the cave walls, crawling over the rock absorbing them with its digestive system. This makes their bodies appear a rusty-red color. Because of the darkness, their eyes have grown smaller and are now useless. They have also grown longer for more digestive surface area.
