The waving orbstalk split from its ancestor it now has a thin bendy stalk and a large starch rich orb on the top. When the spores are ready to grow the orb fills with starch and the stalk bends over, the spores then are rested on the soil and eventually are buried and the parent stalk dies, they then feed on the starch orb as they grow.
