The winghead arthrofin split from its ancestor the arthrofin. It now actively hunts the swarmer species of Nuke River and Terra River. Its head-plate has evolved hinged wings, which it can use to swim through the water. On its tail it has evolved a poisonous stinger which it uses to paralyze its prey so it can eat them. This is useful for the electro swarmer since it strikes before it can get electrically shocked by it. They are bright yellow with black stripes.
They are not above scavenging and will eat dead swarmers if given the chance. Like its ancestors its blue blood filled gill are located behind its head. It uses its 4 mandibles to grasp on to prey. Each mandible has a pair of pincers. Its three primitive eyes are only used when it can see through the muddy water. Otherwise it relies on touch to navigate through murky waters.
During the rainy season the winghead arthrofin gather in mass in Nuke Swamp to breed. It takes three genders to complete the reproduction process: one sperm, one egg and one hormone cell. They release the eggs into the mud, which then hatch within a few days before the rainy season is over.
