Ancestor:Descendants:

The xatakbrak replaced its ancestor. With the rise of the obsidibarrage, the xatapung became at risk from being hurt by the constant downpour of spore chambers. Over time, the xatakpark's face developed into a shield for the eyes and skull: the eye-ears are thick covers for the top of the head, and its back plates have traveled up the top of the skull. The rear of the back-plates forms into a stirrup, which allow both more motion with its tail-leg, and for the young to travel on their parents' backs. It has a commensalistic relationship with the sansheh, running up the backs of the giant foragers to reach taller flora (such as the immature spore chambers of the obsidibarrage); it has followed the sansheh into the tropical rainforest, in the wake of the obsidibarrage's range. Other than these changes, it is the same as its ancestor.
