One of the more specialized descendants of the sealyn, the aabaalki have spread throughout the warmer waters of western hemisphere of Sagan IV, thriving on an omnivorous diet. Known for living solitary existences, they are not above forming loose packs when it comes to feasting on schools of krillpedes. They will also come together in order to mate in groups, after which the females will give birth at sea within five to six months, severing their last ties to the land.
Of interesting note is that the newborn young, whom are offered little to no protection, possess purple splotches across their yellow hides. This creates a somewhat startling resemblance to the various onamor and wolley species. While it only lasts until sub-adulthood, during that time they will swim near and alongside the previously mentioned groups. This appears to offer them some measure of protections, especially from scylarians who prefer different prey.
The wooden beaks and claws of these aquatic denizens are composed of a substance similar to that found in amaranths. Dense and waterproof, they have developed a natural purplish coloration that helps them to stand out compared to its relatives.
