Found only in the Dixon Twilight Caverns, the armored urzong has split from its ancestor and has shrunken in size, as well as developing a thin outer-shell in order to help support its body and to also to help it to store water so that it may leave the pools within the caverns for longer amounts of time than its ancestors could. Having partially regained its sight, or at least the ability to detect lights and shadows, it now feeds on the luminescent lithoamoeba, sucking them up with its tube like snout once it finds patches of them. Unlike its cousin the digger urzong, the armored urzong searches not for microorganisms that are competing with the luminescent lithoamoeba but the luminescent lithoamoebas themselves. It accumulates the bioluminescence of its prey in small organs along its side, and uses them to attract mates. They are immune to the toxins produced by its prey.
