Ancestor:Descendants:

Having split from its ancestor, beach carnofern has taken to the beaches close to its ancestor's tundra home and its population has exploded. Forming thick clumps all along the beach, it helps to prevent erosion of it via keeping the sand in place. When releasing pollen, a large pink flower will grow on top of it that greatly resembles its ancestors, save that it lacks a very large stem due to lack of necessity, seeing as the plants grow near one another. Their leaves have grown and developed slight "joints" that allow them to bend or straighten out depending on the position of the sun. It absorbs silicon from the sand and uses it to enhance the strength of its bark, giving it an almost rock-like texture.
