Ancestor:Descendants:

The bubblebush split from its ancestor, the maineiac bubbleweed. It has grown much larger than its ancestor and has become amphibious. It grows just as well on land than in the water. Like its relative the purple bubbleshrub it is fire resistant due to its hydrogen filled bubbles. Like all bubbleweed the hydrogen-filled seed bubbles help them spread far in the air or water currents.

Since seed bubbles are filled with hydrogen the highly vulnerable to lighting and wildfires. During these times, the blaze is amazing with flora exploding everywhere in huge fire balls. Luckily enough, some seeds float far enough away to survive, and the trunks are resistant enough to survive the blaze. Note that this doesn't happen for the underwater or heavily wet groves. Thus this normally only happens during droughts.
