Ancestor:Descendants:

The carnarbor split from its ancestor and has grown tremendously thanks to island gigantism. Unlike their ancestor they no longer have sub-branches, however the individual leaf filaments have broadened and flattened into leaves in their own right. The broad flat leaves are slightly sticky and curl up when touched, trapping and digesting small flying fauna which blunder into them. The trunk is partially mineralized creating a "living petrified wood" which makes them highly resistant to storms and tamjack tree felling efforts.
